This Is one of the first large scale mural-type pieces I’ve ever done. How hard could it be?  Painting a sky, just bigger than usual. Well it wasn’t that difficult, it was unique. The client was building his house and had a vision apparently influenced by Ceasars Palace in Vegas. So we have a long half barrel shaped ceiling, domed at one end.

He wanted that open air feeling, like being outside without the elements. The mural is painted on this ceiling that is about 12’ off the floor at the center of the arc. Needless to say effect achieved.

Great choice by the client for the wall color,  giving a warm sunny feel to accompany the sky blue.

Here is a view looking the other direction in the room.  A faux marble wall, as well as a faux window in it.

Close up of the airbrushed clouds. Halogen rope lighting behind the crown gives this a nice evening effect as the sun goes down.
